Teleman are a London based indie force that are made up of members of 00’s band Pete & The Pirates. Their sound is fairly mellow and catchy, nursery rhyme esque, which is certainly not a negative, after all, Kurt Cobain claimed that he wanted Nirvana songs to be memorable in the same way nursery rhymes are! This album has a safe and listenable flow throughout, an easy listening album. ‘Cristina’ stands out amongst the rest and is the greater track of the album. Held together by an organ and some simple vocal and staccato guitar it is as simple as it is catchy, which gives it its charm. ‘23 Floors Up’ is another close contender, a single from the album has much the same feel however the simple drums make a nice spine for the track whilst the rest focuses primarily on the vocals. Breakfast is well worth a listen, the kind of album that would accompany the soundtrack to a lazy summer day, which this time of the year is exactly what you want. Check out the video for ‘23 Floors Up’ below.
